Review: Wildfire by Ilona Andrews

Well I am finally reviewing this book after reading it almost 2 weeks ago. I think that maybe it’s taken me so long because I don’t want it to be over! I loved this series, it was everything, I didn’t want it to end. This husband and wife duo author are truly amazing. They also left a little something at the end that leaves it open for maybe a fourth book and I hope that’s in the works because I would love to read more. Especially now that Nevada and Rogan have their relationship locked in, there doesn’t have to be any drama in that department, they can just fight the monsters among them as a full team which would make them so much stronger. I was so into this book I didn’t even highlight anything cause I was so involved with reading so I’ll have to go back and find some great parts (which will be hard cause it was all so good).

When life hits you in the gut, it’s always a sucker punch. You never see it coming. One moment you’re walking along, worrying your little worries and making quiet plans, and the next you’re rolled into a ball, trying to hug yourself against the pain, frantic and reeling, your mind a jumble of scared thoughts.

This book starts off right where the last book ended. And it starts with a bang getting right into the heart of what this book will be focused on. Don’t get me wrong they also have to figure out who is behind this “take over the world” business they keep running into. But the big thing is Nevada making her family safe from all kinds of evil especially her crazy grandmother, that they just found out about.

“Victoria can do everything I do and much more, and she does it better. I’m just now figuring out the extent of my power. She’s been trained in the use of magic since she could hold chalk in her hand. She has power, money, and troops we don’t. She’ll do whatever she has to do to gain control of me and Catalina at the very least.”

There was so much to this book. It had drama, suspense, edge of your seat wondering what will happen next, action, fight scenes, and romance. It had something for everyone. I have loved this series from the beginning, I had a few issues here and there but nothing to stop me from liking the actual story line. But for me I think this was the strongest book. Nevada had her head on straight, she knew what she wanted and she was going for it. Especially in her relationship with Rogan, she wasn’t in her head wondering, she  knew that she was going to be with him and she was going to fight, even him, to make it happened. Meanwhile these two really were meant to be so there was no reason to fight it, they deserved a happily ever after.

“Before we begin, are there any affiliations and alliances to other Houses you wish to declare?”

“Yes. In the event of the formation of House Baylor, House Baylor intends to sign a Mutual Aid Pact with House Harrison.”

“So noted,” the Keeper stated.

“Also, I wish to announce my engagement to Connor Rogan of House Rogan.” Everyone sat up straighter and looked at Rogan. For the first time since I’d known him, shock showed on Rogan’s face. It was there only for a fleeting second, but I saw it and I would savor it for the rest of my life.

That may have been a bit spoilerish, but I mean, we all know they are going to end up together I just wanted to point out that Nevada was standing up for their relationship and also that this girl had balls. She take everything head on and tackles it, she is a force to be reckoned with! I love that we get all our questions answered in this book, especially what Nevada’s sisters powers are that was something I was hoping for and enjoyed seeing how it played out. One thing I don’t really understand is how all the “kids” in her family are Primes or extremely strong with their magic, how is this possible when apparently her father had no magic at all. I mean they need to be strong for the story line I’m just wondering how it all came about, not enough for me to dislike any part of the book just a little mental wondering of my own.

Obviously because this is the third book in the series I can’t tell you much about what happens because it would spoil so much, but I can tell you if you haven’t read the series start now it is so worth it. The writing alone is so well done this author duo is very good at story building. Do I recommend this series absolutely, do I hope there will be a fourth book you bet your ass I do, Did I want it to be over NO fucking way! Do yourself a favor and get into this world of magic and mayhem, so much fun! Happy Reading!

While Lenora’s people had sorted out the arrests of Sturm and his personnel, and first responders had pulled Grandma Frida from the rubble of the wall, Bern had broken the cypher on Olivia’s files. It detailed the entirety of what she knew about the conspiracy: names, details, crimes committed in the name of the cause. We knew everything except for the identity of Caesar. That remained a secret. – Let’s hope we get to find out in a fourth book…… soon haha!

Here is the series reading order:

Burn for Me: A Hidden Legacy Novel

White Hot: A Hidden Legacy Novel

Wildfire: A Hidden Legacy Novel

Has Anyone Read………

Hey all I have some reviews coming up but right now I’m trying to find my next read. I am interested in the Beneath series by Meghan March and was wondering if anyone has read it yet. A lot of the reviews say it’s a great series and a totally alpha male experience, but I’m finding it hard to believe amazon reviews any more. Is it just me or does it seem like there are only 5 star reviews these days on amazon? I mean I always check out the reviews but it seems like it’s always great reviews, then I read the book and wonder if it’s just me that wasn’t in love with the book or didn’t get into the story as much as everyone else. I love to give my love to great books but not every book I read is the best book ever, that doesn’t seem to be the case when reading reviews. I get that my like or dislike of a book will differ from others but I can honestly say I don’t love every book I read even if I love the author/ authors writing. I can’t give my opinion if it isn’t honest and I feel like I read so many reviews and wonder are they being truthful, would I actually enjoy this book? I have actually read books in the past because of so many bad reviews because I wanted to see what the fuss was about, maybe I agreed with them and maybe I didn’t but at least I felt those reviewers were being truthful in their reactions to the book. I guess my issue is, as of lately, I have read a bunch of books because of 5 star reviews and been very let down in my reading, so I’m getting a little gun-shy on reading these books. Obviously some people are going to love the book and others will just like it but there are some that won’t and I’m not seeing those reviews any more. Not that I want anyone dissing authors hard work but I pay for and use up my time to read these books and I want to like what I’m reading. This is my favorite “hobby” (let’s call it) and I want to be able to not feel let down after reading something. I mean obviously it’s going to happen but with others reviews it shouldn’t happen as often.

With that rant over! Has anyone read this series by Meghan March, should I give it a go? The seventh book was just released today and it sounds good and it says you don’t have to read the series in order, so I thought I’d start with it and see if I like the writing. Maybe have my next binge read but I thought I’d see if any one here has read any of the books yet. So any idea if it’s a good read?

Happy Reading!

I’ve Decided…….

I spent most of my day looking and found the book I am going to read and it looks like it’s going to scare the pants off me! It turns out it’s a free read too so that’s even better! Years ago I read SANDMAN (The Thomas Family Book 1) and NIGHTSCREAM (The Thomas Family Book 2) by Morgan Hannah Macdonald and remember them being so scary real that I had to take a break from the writing, now years later there are more books in the series and this author has other books also. So I am going to try out her first book in her other series because it seems to have so many scary factors and that’s what I’m looking for today. She also says that in all her series they don’t have to be read in order so you can start anywhere if you like. I remember really enjoying the writing so I’m looking forward to starting SPIRITS IN THE TREES (The Spirits Series Book 1) this evening. Wish me luck hopefully I can sleep tonight haha. Happy Reading!

I’m Looking for Something……..

I have a bunch of reviews to post but right now I have a certain craving for a book. I want something kinda scary but still in the romance realm. I want a steamy, suspense, kinda scary mystery romance. I read a few good ones a few years ago and can always finish those series off but I’m wondering if maybe my readers here have any really good recommendations for me! So please leave a comment with your recommendations and until then I’ll continue looking at the authors I enjoyed a few years ago. Happy Reading!

Review: In Dark Woods by Susan Fanetti

This is a novella in the series. Do Not Read this until you have read Alone On Earth! I can not believe how sad this book was, I cried through damn near the whole book. This one goes back to Isaac and Lilli and I can’t tell you ONE damn thing about it without ruining the whole fricking story but it was fantastic. I honestly was a blubbering mess! I loved it though, it was just so real. By this point I feel like these people are my friends, that I am a part of their group (without one of the hot bikers for myself haha). I feel every heartache and break that they feel. I actually find myself going to talk about them as if they are real people, this is just crazy. It’s one of the reasons I love these kinds of series but also one of the reasons I hate it because when they hurt, I hurt. And there was a lot of hurt in this book, too much, but that being said it does end on a happy note so that’s an upside. Just beware of a lot of work to get to the happy but it’s worth it! I’m sitting here trying to find something else to add but I can’t without ruining the whole thing so I’m done it’s short but I guess it is a novella and a great addition to the series, a heart hurting, eyes red addition but a great one none the less. Grab this series folks I love it! Happy Reading!

Review: Alone On Earth by Susan Fanetti

This book! My gosh this book! Bart is my favorite character in this series! I have loved him from the very first book and knew I would love his book and I did. I just love his character the bad ass biker/ nerdy man, this just did it for me. Plus he’s so caring and also the best dirty talker in this series so far. Just a full package this man was. Phew, made the story even better! I can’t even with this book it was just so good, if your going to choose just one book of Susan’s to read this one could be it for you. There was everything in this book great characters, great writing, drama, emotions, hard decisions, steamy moments, and action. Susan has a way of writing that you just get into the story and you FEEL everything. I felt whatever the characters were feeling, I was on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I was so lost in the story I did not want it to end! I miss Bart now that it’s over. He had so many hard decisions to make, he does seem to get the wrong end all the time. And by the time it’s over he made a decision that was so good for the club but really not great for himself other than for getting Riley out of all of it.

He was a geek with a sarcastic sense of humor. And he was amazing in bed. He paid attention to her. She could feel him really noticing her body and her responses. He could be gentle, and he could be a little rough. He could take her over, and he could let her have her way.

Riley was a little sad with her life, she didn’t do anything for herself and never even stood up for herself until after she got back from Signal Bend. She is 26 years old and doesn’t even really know who she is. Being in Signal Bend even from the first few hours she starts to find herself a little bit. You could feel her frustration but also her growth with standing up for herself. I felt sorry for her but then I kinda felt she could act like a brat when she wanted her way but didn’t want to do anything to get her way. She did grow into standing her ground and it was written so you could feel the growth and didn’t end up hating her for it. She was a good choice for Bart he didn’t need someone who was super hard-core, he needed sweet.

Until recently, except for the hours of sleep, she’d hardly ever been without a companion of one sort or another. And still she’d been completely alone. And now she wasn’t. Now Bart was with her. What he did didn’t matter, because who he was was perfect for her. He was hers.

They both had a lot of pain but not because of anything in particular mostly just many small things that end up causing you pain, however that being said they weren’t downers and they were able to realize that they weren’t alone anymore once they found each other. It was actually such a great story to read! There was even some humor in this one at many points and it was so well placed and totally the way of Bart’s character.

She stood at the side of the pool and slid her jeans off. She did hesitate a bit when she got to her underwear—really? They were going to do this? Outside—naked? And then Bart came streaking across the lawn, cannonballing into the pool. Yep. Dork.

One thing I love about this series is that it is a continuation of the same story line but with different characters. You aren’t left on a cliffhanger per say but you know the next book is going to delve deeper into the story line but with a different couple so you never feel like your missing the previous story or characters. I am in love with this series. It sucks that I can’t tell you what happens in the book cause it would ruin the whole experience for you if you want to get into the series or haven’t read to this point yet. I really don’t want to give away spoilers for this series it is best read not knowing. The series it full of ups and downs, twist and turns, action, romance and just beautiful writing. I recommend these for sure, they aren’t for someone who is queasy with violence and crazy action but a really great read for someone who does enjoy a great MC biker romance with all the crazy added in! Pick up your copy now and enjoy the ride. Happy Reading!

But here, in this quiet, small space, he and Riley were the only people in the world. He was the only person in the world for her, and she was for him. They didn’t have to share each other, their lives, with anyone else. No demands. No expectations. No disappointments. No pasts. No jealousies. They were alone, together.
